    Mortar application and content: Vertical, very heavy, bold. Vertical mortar between stones is laid in strong v-shaped strips, which are cut off from the horizontal strips of mortar both above and below the stones.

    Types and uses of stones: Irregular rough. Since the quoins are variable, the courses of stones per quoin are not uniform in number. Stones are irregular in size and shape.

    The one and one half story house at 602 Stafford Rd. sets back from the road a considerable distance. Its quoins are roughly rectangular, but vary in size and shape.
